This winter weather alert is courtesy Ace Towing, 541.884.9388.

Winter Storm Watch is issued for Wednesday through Thursday. The previously issued Winter Weather Advisory has expired.

MEDFORD, Ore. - There is potential for significant snowfall midweek on Wednesday night and Thursday. The heaviest snow is expected to be across the Coast Range and across Siskiyou County. Heavy snow accumulation could result in widespread travel disruptions.

This includes passes along I-5, US97, Oregon highways 62, 138, 140, & 230, and Forest Service roads like Bear Camp road.

The heaviest snows are expected late Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon. Moderate to heavy snow could continue into Thursday evening.

Areas as low as 2000 feet can see snow during this storm.

Winter Storm Warnings have been issued for much of the Southern Oregon Cascades, Siskiyou’s, and Sierras.

A strong winter storm will impact the region Wednesday into Thursday. Moderate to heavy snow is anticipated above 2500 ft with light snow possible down to 1500 ft early Thursday morning. The heaviest snow is expected Wednesday evening through Thursday morning. Strong winds will lead to blowing snow east of the Cascades and this will bring periods of reduced visibilities. Gusts of 30 to 50 mph are expected along the Coast, in the Shasta Valley, east of the Cascades and across the terrain. Travel during this time will be extremely difficult, if not impossible. If you must travel, be sure to stock and pack your car’s emergency kit and check road conditions before venturing out.
