MEDFORD, Ore. - The Medford office of the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of the Southern Oregon Cascades and a Wind Advisory for portions of the Klamath Basin.

Low pressure will bring mountain snowfall late today into Monday. The heaviest snowfall is expected early Monday morning over the High Cascades with 1 inch per hour snowfall rates likely (90 percent chance). Snow levels will generally be 5000ft and higher. Snowfall will continue into Monday afternoon with low visibility expected, but impacts to roadways should lessen some as road temperatures trend warmer.

A strong front will bring gusty winds to much of the forecast area from late Sunday through Monday. Strongest winds are expected east of the Cascades. Gusty winds at the coast and in higher terrain west of the Cascades. Use extra caution with high-profile vehicles. Power outages possible in strongest winds. Wind direction will be from the west to southwest.
