A Red Flag Warning has been issued for parts of Southern Oregon and Northern California for high temperatures and low relative humidity through 11:00 PM 8/15/20. Interactive map (Click for larger)
Hot weather will persist the rest of this weekend into early next week. Isolated thunderstorms could develop this afternoon and evening [8/15/20], but most areas will remain dry.
Coverage of showers and thunderstorms will increase on Sunday. Cloud to ground lightning on dry fuels could result in numerous new fire ignitions, and gusty, erratic outflow winds may contribute to fire spread.
Another disturbance could bring isolated to scattered thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening, especially in the Modoc and east of the Cascades.
A slight chance of thunderstorms continues into Tuesday. After Tuesday, the ridge should retreat somewhat taking the edge off the heat with thunderstorm chances pushing to our east.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM Sunday for abundant lightning on dry fuels for fire weather zones 617, 621, 622, 623, 624, and 625 in Oregon - And for Fire Weather Zones 280, 281, 282, 284, and 285 in California. (see map)

A Fire Weather Watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening for abundant lightning on dry fuels for fire weather zones 621 and 625 in Oregon - and for Fire Weather Zone 285 in California. (see map)
