Heavy snow returns again through Thursday night - 2 feet possible in mountains

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for much of the Klamath Basin through late Thursday night.

MEDFORD, Ore. - Heavy snow will develop as snow levels rise on Thursday. Snow levels will begin near 2000 feet early Thursday, rise to 3500 to 4500 feet Thursday afternoon then 5000+ feet Thursday night.

Snow levels lower from the northwest on Friday as the precipitation becomes lighter.

Snow levels in the Mount Shasta Region will be lower but may eventually rise to between 4500 and 5500 feet on Friday. Heavy snow is expected to fall along the I-5 corridor in the Mt. Shasta Region with lesser amounts on Siskiyou Summit.

Always carry chains when planning to drive in winter conditions and give yourself extra travel time.

WHERE
Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades. Including portions of highways 140, 138, 230, and 58, as well as the road up to the Mt. Ashland Ski area.

WHEN
From Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon.

IMPACTS
Travel could be very difficult. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
