MEDFORD, Ore. - An upper level low will bring in relatively warm moist air to the region Friday evening. The bulk of the precipitation will fall over Northern California above roughly 4500 feet.
A winter weather advisory is in effect above 4000 feet in most of Northern California. In general, 2 to 6 inches will fall in Northern California with some areas of 8 inches on the higher mountains.
Lower amounts of 2 to 5 inches will fall east of the Cascades and cover the valley floors. The Cascades and Mt. Ashland should also see around 6 to 8 inches in this event.

WHAT: Wet snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches.
WHERE:
In California, Northeast Siskiyou and Northwest Modoc Counties, and Modoc County.
In Oregon, Klamath Basin, Northern, and Eastern Klamath County and Western Lake County, and Central and Eastern Lake County. This includes portions of Highways 97, 140, 395, 139, and 299.
WHEN: From 11 PM Friday to 11 AM PDT Saturday.
IMPACTS: Plan for difficult travel conditions. Roads may become slick and snow-covered.
Precautionary / Preparedness Actions
Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
