Then There Were Two

This Saturday two Klamath Basin high school football teams are playing for a chance to go to the State Championship Game as they play in the OSAA OnPoint Community Credit Union Football State semifinal game in their respected classifications – 1A, Hosanna Christian Lions & 2A, Lost River Raiders.

OSAA 1A Quarterfinal
In the 1A, it is a rematch of the 2017 Championship Game as #4 Hosanna will be facing #1 Dufur. Both teams are undefeated heading into Saturday’s quarterfinal game. The winner of this game will face either St. Paul or Wallowa in the championship game on November 24th.

Hosanna has played strong all season with a 9-0 record, blowing out opponents by an average of 32 points. Their closest game came at the hands of North Douglas where Hosanna won by 2-points. Dufur is a tough team, they are ranked #1 for a reason. The defending state champions hold an impressive 11-0 record for 2018 and has mercifully defeated, Triad, Bonanza, Camas Valley, Wallowa and others.

Everything is on the line, only one of these two will reign supreme and head into the championship game undefeated.

OSAA 2A Quarterfinal
In the 2A, #11 Lost River will take on #10 Kennedy. Both teams have been playing impressively, winning on the road throughout the playoffs.

In the first round Lost River defeated #6 Coquille 17-8 and, in the quarterfinals, the Raiders defeated #3 Neah-Kah-Nie 21-0. Kennedy first defeated #7 Heppner 34-0 in the first round then #2 Sheridan 27-6 in the quarterfinals. Both teams have a refuse to lose attitude heading into their playoff matches.

Both quarterfinal games take place Saturday at Summit High School in Bend. Lost River will play at noon, Hosanna at 4:00 PM.
