No. 20 Oregon Tech Downs Northwest to Stay Perfect on “Pink Out” Night

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Five Owls scored in double figures as No. 20 Oregon Tech (15-7, 8-4 CCC) improved to 9-0 on "Pink Out" night with an 83-72 win over Northwest University (9-11, 3-7 CCC) at Danny Miles Court on the 9th Annual "Pink Out" game.
 
OIT jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Northwest answered with a 7-0 run to take the lead at 7-4.
Tech's Zach Bernards then hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 7. NU then took their final lead of the game at 9-7 on a Justice Martion jumper at the 13:41 mark.

The Owls took their largest lead in the first half at 24-17 after a Tyler Hieb layup with 7:06 left in the frame.
 
Martion hit a jumper in the final second of the half to cut the Tech lead to just four points at 34-30.
 
A Jalen Carvalho 3-pointer gave the Owls their largest lead of the game 45-35 just three and half minutes in the second Stanza.
 
Tech would grow the lead to as many as 18 points 62-48 on an Andrew Weber dunk with 8:28 to play. The Eagles would battle but never were able to cut the Tech lead to single digits, eventually falling 83-74.
 
Weber and Bernards led the Owls with 14 points each, Jalen Carvalho added 12 points and Tyler Hieb and Seth Ericksonchipped in 10 points each in the win.
 
Tech's Mitchell Fink was just shy of a triple-double as he finished with a game high 10 assists, 8 points and 7 rebounds.
 
Tanner Davis and Martion led the Eagles with 16 points each in the loss.
 
Oregon Tech will next host Evergreen State Sunday at 6:00 pm on Hawaiian night at Danny Miles Court.
