Communications company offers scholarships to Veterans and Active Military

 

MEDFORD, Ore. - Hunter Communications, has announced it is funding three $2,500 Military Appreciation Scholarships for Veterans and active military personnel in the counties it serves.  

Applicants must be currently enrolled or enroll within the next year in a two- or four-year college or university, trade school, flight school, apprenticeship, or similar program.  Hunter is accepting applications now through March 31, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. PST.

The Justin Jenkins Military Scholarship is funded by Hunter in memory of employee Justin Jenkins, who passed away on December 29, 2022.

Affectionately known as JJ to those who knew and loved him, he was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked as an apprentice in Hunter’s Electrical Division. As stated in the program dedication, “JJ lived Hunter’s values each and every day and his loss was deeply felt by all who knew him. This scholarship stands as a tribute to his unwavering spirit of generosity, service, and love.”

To apply for the scholarship, Veterans or active military personnel are asked to complete an online form and submit an essay of up to 500 words OR submit a video up to five minutes in length detailing how they have exhibited one, some, or all of Hunter’s company values.
