Akins nationally recognized as Top Diversity Leader

The following is a press release from Cascade Health Alliance.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - A national award given by Modern Healthcare Magazine, Top Diversity Leaders honors the top diverse healthcare executives and organizations influencing policy, care delivery, public health, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in their organizations and the healthcare industry.

“I am tremendously honored and humbled to be selected to receive the 2023 Top Diversity Leaders in Healthcare to Watch award by Modern Healthcare. It is a privilege and blessing to be selected among such an eclectic group of healthcare leaders nationally. The biggest honor goes to my board and colleagues that have enabled me to get this far.” – Tayo Akins, CEO, Cascade Health Alliance

Health equity is the state in which everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health. Tayo works hard to improve quality of life for all citizens in Klamath County. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values, and this can be seen through Cascade Health Alliance's contributions to, and collaboration with, numerous community organizations.

Cascade Health Alliance (CHA) has a diverse department dedicated to Health Equity and DEI that targets native and non-English speaking populations to help deliver equitable health services and improved health outcomes. This department connects with underrepresented populations and ensures that they are aware of and have access to quality health care resources, social needs, and education and information.

These efforts directly address disparities in health outcomes for the under-served communities including Native Americans, Latinx, Asians, LGBTQIA2S+, and disadvantaged groups.
